Access means to these resorts are:
- JR Express trains direct from Shinjuku to major stations. Buses or taxies afterwards.
- JR local trains from Matsumoto. Buses or taxies afterwards.
- Highway buses direct from Shinjuku to major ski fields.
- Shuttle buses from Nagano to JR Hakuba station and Tsugaike area.

If you come to Nagano by Shinkansen, you need to choose further access means to your destinating ski field.
- Shigakogen:　Nagano Dentetsu local train to Yudanaka and then bus to Shigakogen area.
Alternatively, take direct bus to Shigakogen from Nagano station.
- Nozawa Onsen:　JR Iiyama line for Togari-Nozawa Onsen station, then local bus to Nozawa Onsen.
Alternatively, direct bus to Nozawa Onsen from Nagano station.
- Myoko:　JR Shinetsu line for Myoko Kogen and then local bus.

During ski season, there are several scheduled bus services from Tokyo area directly to the ski resorts. This is cheaper and more convenient. Most of them are night buses (out-bound).
