Nagano station is the main hub for this area.

Nagano Dentetsu (private) runs local trains which is good for going to Shiga Kogen.

Nozawa Onsen is reached by JR train (to Togari Nozawaonsen station) and then by bus.

Nozawa Onsen is also accessible by direct bus from Nagano station.

Many destinations are served by highway buses from Nagano.
This bus stand and ticket office is located across the street off the Zenkoji Exit of the station.

Direct buses to Hakuba leave from bay 6 at the East Exit.

Most buses including highway buses, leave from the Zenkoji Exit of the station.

Some suburban buses leave from the East Exit. Tourists with heavy ski gears just get off from Shinkansen can board the buses to ski resorts more easily because the East Exit is just off the Shinkansen platform. ( However, Nagano Dentetsu station is at the other side! )
