SHINJUKU STATION, GATEWAY TO MATSUMOTO

Shinjuku station is one of Tokyo's major terminals , and the Limited Express AZUSA departs from here.
Along with Super AZUSA the limited express leave for Matsumoto on the hour.

AZUSA IS THE TRAIN YOU NEED TO FIND AT SHINJUKU
|
|
This is the head of Narita Express heading Narita Airport at platform 3.
Narita Express from the Airport arrives at platform 4.
You can see an AZUSA standing-by at platform 5 (white-colored train on the left).

As of March 15, all Azusa Expresses leave from platform 9 or 10.
|

Follow these signs to reach the AZUSA platform.

All Azusa or Super Azusa express trains go to Matsumoto. Some even run further to Hakuba or Minamiotari. (Not to Nagano)
The last train for Matsumoto leaves at 9 PM. Trains after 9 PM terminate at Kofu.
Night trains (rapid, not limited express) are operated on selected nights arriving at Matsumoto
early in the morning.

BUSES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE FROM SHINJUKU
|
|
Highway bus provides a frequent and reasonable service.
Destinations in Shinjuku include Matsumoto, Nagano, Iida, Suwa Area and Hakuba.
If you are heading for Nagano, more frequent service is available from Ikebukuro station.

Highway Bus Terminal is located near the station.
You will see YODOBASHI CAMERA store on the opposite side of the terminal.

SHINJUKU STATION, BIG AND BUSY
|

Most of the signs are posted in English. But do not expect to hear any announcement in English.
If you notice any problems (suspension of trains, for instance) you need to ask station staff near by.
|

Shinjuku station is big, busy and complex. You should be aware of which exit area you are at.
